Do, Do, Do, Looking Out My Back Door...Shanghai Evening View from our Living Room Balcony
The four preceeding posts are flashbacks to our comparatively carefree Christmas vacation with Darby's family in Georgia and Orlando as we prepared to move to Shanghai.
Now, nearly three weeks into our stay in China, we are leaner (Darby lost twelve lbs. thanks to the family stomach virus) and stronger (assuming that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger), and finally settling into a rhythm of life. Liam's scars from his burn are almost gone now. Darby is back working after a few days of sleeping on the bathroom floor. Perhaps God was just slowing us down so that we could re-focus on our purpose for being here...salt and light.
Our apartment is slowly becoming home. Whenever I miss our home in Tulsa and friends and family wherever they may be, I remember that home is wherever Valerie, Liam, Tessa, and I are together. I think we will be fine. He is faithful.
Also I'd like to dedicate the titles of the three preceeding posts to my Grandaddy Ransom who would, no doubt, be proud to be the genesis of a generational curse of bad puns. Also I wish to apologize in advance to my innocent little son, Liam, who will no doubt carry the burden of that curse throughout his life and pass it along with undiminished pride to his sons and grandsons.
